“Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams.” – Section II from The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch
Hello! ๐ I decided to blog after I finished eating my lunch, which was some yummy noodle soup made by my dad. ;D
Here’s a lovely picture of it. Looks good, huh? ๐ It tasted good too! ;D
So, today, I wanted to talk about childhood dreams. Yup, childhood dreams. I don’t know about you guys, but I had many dreams when I was a child. One of those dreams was being an Olympic gymnast. Yeah…achieving that dream is probably not going to happen for me, but that’s okay! ๐ Instead of being an actual gymnast, right now, I just want to be flexible like a gymnast. Honestly, I aspired to be a gymnast, because I admired them for their flexibility. Watching them cartwheel, flip, and just leap off the ground as if they were weightless made me want to do the exact same things. So, my goal for this year is to be able to do a front split (one leg stretched out to the front and the other leg stretched out to the back; definition from this cite). It’s just one of my smaller goals this year. ๐ Although it’s technically not achieving my childhood dream, it’s better than nothing! ^o^
To motivate myself, I have posted up this sign to remind myself to stretch everyday. Pardon, my grammatical error, I forgot “do,” but it still kind of makes sense, right? ๐
Now, some of you may look back at your childhood dreams and think “I can’t believe I wanted to be that or do that! xD” But you know, that was a part of you, and hopefully, is still a part of you. To be able to imagine yourself being/doing something in the future is amazing. No matter what your dream is, whether it’s to save a life, to travel around the world, to find your soul-mate, or to find your dream, just remember you’re not alone in this journey. When you feel like giving up, don’t. There are millions of people just like you trying to reach their dreams and they feel just like you do. Although it may not come as fast as you’d like/hope, it will come along eventually. Hard word and determination will get you far in life. Don’t stop believin’!(It’s a great song for a reason. ;D)
All the words I’ve typed have been said to me awhile back, when I was feeling frustrated with where I was in my life. I felt like I wasn’t achieving my dreams.”Trying”=”Not Succeeding” is what I felt. Now, I feel that “Trying”=”Pending Success.” ๐
I didn’t intend for this post to be motivational, but I guess that’s what happens, right? ๐ Not all things occur as you would expect they would, but, hey, that’s what makes life interesting. ;D
Until next time ^-^
